Vodafone Freedom(inatrix)

Posted in local, the net by sandro on the September 10th, 2007

vodaYou might have seen the advert on “The Sunday Times of Malta”. Vodafone are offering free unlimited/unmetered internet access over 3g for lm9.99. They ask you to buy a usb modem which goes for lm129 (I don’t have the details here). You can also get the usb modem for free if you subscribe for 2 years. As part of the contract, they give you a “data sim” which cannot be used for voice.

Limitations include 3g coverage and 1.5mbit limit. I think it sounds nice as a backup connection.

1.5mbit limit ? i hope this is speed limit… if this is true… it it works reliably i will just get data sim and use in my phone with Skype or build in SIP phone (WM6)

speed limit. there is no limit on the amount of data

i think they would block SIP… thats what they do in .de. That’s where tunneling or other protocols can be useful :D

we’ll have to see .. but lm10 sounds like a fair price. I have an impression that the reliability / coverage sucks
