Pity you were not there for the festival of Dussehra which as I understand is all over India in honor of Lord Rama.

Yeah I heard about this. When I was in India, there was a good festival of Ganesha, and it is celebrated in the south only, where I was. But since I didn’t know that was the same time I planned my holiday in the north, duh!! And they have loads of festivals!!
