GTDinbox for Gmail

Posted in google by sandro on the May 24th, 2008

If you’re using Gmail a lot for work, you might realize how powerful the “archive” feature is. It takes existing emails out of your sight but keeps them there for later use. I also use the labels extensively together with the filters to automatically distinguish those email that come from some mailing lists from the emails that actually matter. If you’re not using all this, then you probably should.

If you are using these features, then GTDinbox seems to be the next best thing to try ;-) It makes it easier to sort out your stuff by applying a bit of the GTD (getting thing done) magic with Gmail, effectively turning it into a working machine rather than just an email service.

So for the next hour I’ll be sorting out my inbox and replying to those emails that i missed :-p
More can be found at GTDInbox.

google fu to search boomshuffle

Posted in google by sandro on the January 22nd, 2008

Boomshuffle is great. If you’re not familiar with it - it’s a web 2.0 service which allows you to set up your own music lists and make them available for others to listen to. That’s great if you have all the time in the world to set up your own list, but what if I want to search other people’s lists? Boomshuffle does not seem to have a site search - enter google. With a bit of google fu, you can easily find mixes which include your favourite bands. And .. I guess you can use the below form:

Who googles what…

Posted in comic, google by Donald on the November 19th, 2007

Thanks to the good folks at Google, now everyone can analyse the search engine requests, and knowing from which city or country they come from.

The Egyptians and the Indians are the most people who search for the word ’sex’ , according to Google.

‘Anal sex’ is most popular in Ankara, Turkey and unsurprisingly perhaps, Miami, Florida.

So you think Italians are some latin machos who are God’s gift to nature? Unlikely… as they are the most people who search for ‘viagra’, followed by the UK and Germany.

The Australians, British and Americans are the most people who search for ‘botox’ while ‘fisting’ is most searched in Zurich, Switzerland… those bankers!
